COMMONWEALTH GAMES

The games schedule for the commonwealth games are attached down below, with our ladies in pool B battling it out with South Africa, Australia, Scotland and New Zealand. have a look at the timings. Their first game being on the 29th of July. Below are the full fixtures;

AFRICAN HOCKEY ROAD TO PARIS 2024

The games are expected to be played in 1st August 2023, to determine the country that will proceed to play the Olympics in Paris, 2024. The venue shall be confirmed officially later.

Team Squad

The Blades team consists of ladies from different teams played in the Kenya Hockey Union. All willing to raise the flag of our country higher and improve our ranking both in Africa and Worldwide. Get to know the ones that will be representing us in the commonwealth games;

COMMONWEALTH Squad

MILLICENT ADHIAMBO Goalkeeper
She plays for the Lakers cub as their number one keeper.  A decorated young promising keeper aged 19 years old.
QUINTER OKORE Goalkeeper
Number one goalkeeper at her club called University of Nairobi, the commonwealth games will be the 25 year olds' debut.
BEATRICE MBUGUA Defender
Among the oldest, and skilled players, she is not a new face in the National team. The 28 year old plays for Spartans club, USIU.
LYNN MWANGI Defender
Joining her fellow Spartan, Beatrice, 23 year old Lynn plays as part of  the defense. This being her third national team assignment.
GUCHU CAROLINE Utility/ Midfield
Being the oldest and most decorated player, the Blazer star will be adding these games to her many other caps whilst representing Kenya.
MUTIVA FLAVIAN Utility
Playing for the famous Blazers, Flavian will be the utility player of the Commonwealth squad. Having more than 3 national team assignments.
ANYANGO VIVIAN Defender
The Lakers club defender will be making her second appearance in the national team ready to deliver her best to her country as she does for her club.
OKUMU GILLY Midfield/ Forward
Strathmore University Forward, is set to captain the team. The 27 year old is a decorated athlete as well having represented he country more than three times.
OKUMU MAUREEN Midfield/ Forward
Alias 'pikipiki' , the Blazers speedstar is among the 18 man squad to Birmingham hoping to represent Kenya.
KIPSANG TAMUNAI Midfielder
The Strathmore Scorpion midfielder makes yet another appearance to the national team.
OWITI ALICE Forward/Midfielder
The Assistant Captain leading the commonwealth team, the Lakers protégé  helps Gilly lead the team to make history in the UK.
ELEANOR CHEBET Midfield/Forward
Blazers sensation joins the team to play among the forwards. This being her third appearance for the national team.
GRACE BWIRE Forward
Blazers newest signing sets out to represent her country as a forward hoping to score goals.
KEMUNTO NAOM Forward
The 21 year old plays for  Spartans club, USIU, in the Premier league. A shinning star, one to look out for in the games!
ONSARE JERIAH Midfield
Joining her fellow  Strathmore Scorpions, she makes her third appearance for the Kenya Team.
ANJAO JOAN Defender
Among the youngest talent in the team, the Blazers younging will be making her debut in the games as part of the defense.
ODHIAMBO NICOLE Midfield
The youngest player in the 18 man squad will be making her debut in the games. Locally, she plays for Strathmore University Scorpions.
OWITI MAUREEN Defender/ Midfield
The 22 year old Lakers defender is among the 18 man squad as part of the defense.
